Our Green School Blog

Our school is part of the Green-schools programme. The aim of the programme is to make environmental awareness and action part of the life and ethos of the school.​ We have 7 green flags already for : 
1. Litter and waste (pick-up litter, cut down on single use plastic, recycle) 
2. Energy (close doors and turn off lights- energy saver in classes)  
3. Water (turn of the tap while brushing your teeth) 
4. Travel   (walk or cycle to school if it’s safe for you to do so) 
5. Biodiversity (plant bulbs and seeds) 
6. Global citizenship litter and waste 
7. Global citizenship and energy

                                             Recycling reminders!

  • Remember to use the recycling bin in the classroom correctly.  
  • Only paper or cardboard is allowed in this bin.

  • Lunch bag rubbish must be taken home and remember to put the rubbish into the correct bins.

  • Your paper lunch bag can go in your green bin.

  • Plastic wrapping (any soft plastic) from your lunch goes into the general waste bin.

  • Empty water bottles go into your green bin.

Design a poster for your classroom reminding everyone in your class about what goes in each bin.
