We held a Climate Action Week in our school from 14th-20th of October. During this week all classes took part in lots of fun and interesting activities. Junior infants - Third class took part in a tree identification lesson. They can now identify lots of different types of trees on our school grounds. All classes were involved in planting our raised beds with spring bulbs. Our biggest action of the week was getting rid of all our single use plastic bottles from the school lunches. We have replaced them with reusable drink bottles that the pupils use every day. All classes were encouraged to write a climate action pledge and put it into our climate action pledge box. Here are some of the pledges that were written:
I pledge to buy less plastic..
I pledge to save water and electricity..
I pledge to pick up rubbish..
I pledge to use less plastic..
I pledge to recycle more..
