The Teddy Bear Hospital
Senior Infants were lucky enough to be invited to the Teddy Bear Hospital in January. We all brought our poor sick teddies and went on the bus. We had so much fun and the doctors were very kind. They checked all the teddies and gave them medicine and injections. Some of the teddies needed x-rays and some even needed surgery!
Afterwards, while the teddies were resting, we had great fun on the bouncy castle and slide. We even got our faces painted. At the end we all had fruit to help keep us healthy.
Then we came back to school on the bus. It was a fantastic day out, and we had lots of fun, but we were all very tired at the end of it!
Aistear in Senior Infants in January
Senior Infants were very busy in Aistear for the month of January. We were working on houses and homes.
We designed, drew and constructed homes in the Construction and the Creative Areas. We used playdough and pegs to make homes in the Fine Motor Area. We even built homes out of Lego in the Small World Area.
Our favourite area was the Role-Play Area where we acted out being at home and did all the jobs around the house. We learned so much about houses and homes. It was a fun theme for the month of January.
Filming for Erasmus
Some of the girls from 6th class are going to visit schools in Portugal and they wanted to film every class doing something nice. We decided to sing one of our favourite Irish songs called “Lámha Suas”. We did all the actions and sang beautifully. Some of us even waved our Irish flags. We hope the boys and girls in Portugal like our song!
Stay Safe in Senior Infants
Senior Infants know how to Stay Safe. We have been learning all the ways to Stay Safe.
We know the three rules are
1. Say No
2. Move Away
We also know that bad secrets make you sad when you hear them and good secrets make you happy. We have lots of people that we can tell our secrets too and that we can ask for help when we have a problem.
We have been learning all about problems and solutions in Dina School too. We are great at solving problems now!
We were lucky enough to go to Road Safety School. We learned how to Stay Safe when we are walking. We need to wear a high-visibility jacket and hold our parent’s hand.
We learned how to Stay Safe in the car. We need to put on a belt, sit in the back and sit on a booster seat.
We learned how to Stay Safe when we are cycling. We need to wear a high-visibility jacket and a helmet and stay near our parent. We were so good at Staying Safe, that we were all given Safety Licences! Now we can check that our families and friends are all being safe too!
