Week 2: Monday June 15th - Friday June 19th

We hope you are all staying safe & keeping well. We hope you had a great week off & got to enjoy the amazing weather. We are looking forward to seeing everyone once school reopens. We know every household and/or family situation is different during these times. Therefore, do what you can, when you can.

P.E.
Getting outside everyday is so important both for your physical & mental health so this month please try to get outside as much as possible.

  • Ride your bike or scooter

  • Dribble a ball either kicking/bouncing from A to B
  • Toss/kick a ball into a net/target
  • Do a ball toss/beanbag into baskets/boxes
  • Practice skills we completed during the year: clapping as you throw in the air before you catch it (see can you increase your claps between catches), bounce, chest & overhead pass.

Make an obstacle course: use what you can find in the garden to make something to crawl under or ‘walk the plank’.
  • Balance an egg/potato on a spoon and weave your way through cones/obstacles
  • Do x jumping jacks on the spot
  • Do x push-ups on the spot

You could dress up in old clothes & wellies & complete the course in those – it makes it a lot harder!

Skip or play elastics: use old tights: standing inside the loop so you are stretching it relatively taut around your ankles. Use the rhyme “England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Inside, Outside, On the Scales“. If you pass this level, the height of the elastic is raised to knees, then thighs.

Christmas Concert 2018

Here we are performing at our Christmas Concert.

Fionn MacCumhaill and The Salmon of Knowledge

Fourth Class have been learning about Fionn MacCumhaill and The Salmon of Knowledge in History. In our Art lesson we made our own Salmon and are now full of knowledge! We used celery to print the scales onto our fish.

Staying safe on the roads

We had a visit from the Road Safety Authority in October. We learned a lot from Caitríona about how to keep safe while walking, cycling and while travelling in our cars.
